The Old Boys Association of D. S. Senanayake College has taken measures to reduce its expenses by equipping the OBA building with solar panels. As an institution that mainly works during the day, it’s a very smart decision to initiate such a project. As the energy crisis is an inevitable problem that we will have to face in the future, it’s better to take a step in the right direction by using more sustainable energy sources. The 17kW solar system used for this will be very cost-effective in the long run since it provides 100% of the electricity requirement of the building. This project was carried out in partnership with Lanka Shakthi Technologies (Pvt) Ltd. In the future, we hope to see new technology such as this used by the OBA, help develop our school as well.
